Learn To Stop Spyware Before It Hurts Your PC
My friend is a sport fisherman, at least that's what he dreams of, on a 9 to 5 day he fixes home computers and does an exceptional job and possesses a sterling reputation. When the geek gods send me a PC problem, my friend is the person I dial and no matter how difficult or convoluted the problem, give him some leeway and he'll ferret out a resolution. He told me something unsettling last time I saw him, it seems that 80% of the PCs he works on have spyware or adware on their hard drives, and a good number of people are ignorant of it; only calling him when their computers become slugish.
The Internet is akin to a living, breathing life-form continually evolving, and not always in a helpful direction, though it definitely has given me opportunities. As the calendar turns and technology advances, so also does spyware & adware. It is important in this day and age to have Spyware Removal software on your system and to schedule scans on a regualr basis; imperative is running software updates, since what worked yesterday may jump over a new type ofvirus or adwarecreated today.
As research for this report (using a separate and clean system) I performed a test, turning OFF my anti spyware, anti adware software then visiting several traffic trade sites. These surfing exchanges are ideal for new marketers, giving them the method to deliver people to their sites, simply by their at other relevant sites. They work like this:
The surfer is shown a site at random (usually category specific) and credits are debited to his/her account These credits are allocated to a particular site. Then When someone else surfs, your site or offer will be displayed. It is designed to be a win/win scenario.
This allows anyone to quickly send traffic to their sites, but some (not all) of these traffic exchanges are either run by or frequented by people of ill intent. Their scheme is not to simply display an offer or website, but to send spyway to your computer. And with today's technology much of this adware is sophisticated enough to trigger the installation of spyware onto your computer, as easily as visiting their website. I'm not criticizing these sites or telling you not to use them, I am recommending caution and suggesting you be positive your computer is secure.
If you are studying this, statistics say you may already have or will soon be infected by spyware or adware. If you are wondering, well I don't visit movies or music sites and I definetely would never install illegal programs, then you are one of the few, but you are still need to be prepared. Take the your computer. Take heed of the old saying...
'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'
Nowhere is that truer than with the important data on your PC. A lot of what is on your hard drive, either from your job or personal reasons; think of getting up to discover all your files gone. Appalling, positively... Might it happen?... Yes it could. Avoidable? You bet by installing the most highly rated spyware removal programs.
Now that I have your attention, maybe you're thinking what will spyware and adware do to my PC. Good, glad to see you're thinking. In most cases spyware/adware/malware are not were not coded to erase files, but silent reporters. Collecting datathen reporting your habits to a website; the spyware may initiate pop-ups and can clog your system, slow your processor and lessen your connection speed to the Internet. It's not so much the damage done, but the fact that your life, your privacy, your system has been breached and these people (whomever they are) have no right to be there.
Thankfully there are giving people who feel precisely the way I feel; this means this group want to not take this lying down. I'm not a programmer, I'm a writer, and I submit this article to give fair warning and propose you make preparations and shield your system. I am grateful to those programmers with the intelligence and heart to write and make available these spyware removal programs.
When you decide on which spyware/adware removal tools to install, I'd propose frequent scans of your PC. When the programs are setup properly, all of the hard work is done automatically, and almost certainly in the middle of the night.
